Jamaica Plain – Part Time Nanny (20-25 hours/week) – June Start

A family who is relocating from North Carolina to Boston’s Jamaica Plain is searching for a part time nanny to begin in June. They have a curious, friendly 1.5 year old daughter who never passes up a moment to be outside and are expecting a newborn in July.

The schedule for this position is completely flexible for the first 2 months, with a preference of 8-10 hours spread over 2 days. During this time, the goal is to establish a loving bond with the family’s toddler who loves going for walks, waving to neighborhood dogs, and taking in her surroundings. When the new baby arrives by early July, care and responsibilities for him will be added to this role in late 2024, along with a compensation increase. The long term schedule is anticipated to be 20-25 hours/week, spread over 3-5 days, based on candidate preference. Ideal shift timeframes are 4-6 hours between 10am and 5pm.

Responsibilities are focused on direct childcare, outings/activities, and child-related household tasks such as laundry and cleaning up after play. Simple family meal and snack preparation (nothing fancy!) is requested as time allows. The home is T accessible and there are no driving responsibilities. The family is hoping for a multi-year commitment as they will be in Boston for a minimum of 3 years. Candidates must be fully vaccinated, including the COVID vaccine.
