Boston (Beacon Hill) – Live In Nanny (40 hours/week) – September Start

A busy Beacon Hill family is searching for a full time live in nanny to join them beginning on September 1st! You’ll care for their four children, ages 8, 6, 4, and 2. Accommodations include a beautiful basement-level suite with a private bathroom and a kitchenette area that is rarely used by the family.

The base schedule for this position is M/Th 6:30am-9:30am and 4pm-8pm, W 6:30am-9:30am and 3pm-10pm, F 6:30am-9:30am and 4pm-7pm, and Sat 8am-6pm, for a guarantee of 40 hours/week. One or two nights per week, the shift will end at 9 or 10pm (with advance notice). The ability to flex up in hours on occasion is required. Responsibilities include helping the parents manage busy mornings by preparing breakfast, getting the children dressed and ready for school, packing backpacks, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and tidying up the kitchen. Engaging the children with creative, screen-free activities, coordinating playdates and enrichment opportunities, assisting with naps and bedtime routines, and providing consistent emotional support, structure, and guidance around manners, hygiene, and emotional regulation are important. This role also includes transporting the children to/from extracurricular activities several times per week, preparing snacks and simple meals, and supervising baths and bedtime (independently managing bedtime a few nights each week). Mornings will be spent working alongside parents with a divide and conquer approach.

In addition to childcare, the nanny’s duties also include providing meaningful household support related to the children and shared family spaces. This includes unpacking backpacks and sports bags, washing lunch boxes, preparing for sports practices assisting with dinner prep and kitchen cleanup, packing lunches for the next day, tidying common areas, running the dishwasher, organizing mudrooms and play spaces, maintaining clean strollers and the family car, children’s laundry, and monitoring household supplies. Occasional errands, grocery assistance, trash and recycling duties, and other day-to-day household tasks may also be needed.

Willingness to travel is a must, as the family spends each summer at their Nantucket home and would like their nanny to join them during those months. During the winter, they spend time at their New Hampshire home, so the nanny would be expected to travel there at least every other weekend. Candidates must be able to swim, work smoothly alongside other household staff, and foster a positive, organized, low-stress home environment, while bringing fun and consistency to the children’s daily lives. The family is excited to meet nannies who are proactive, intuitive, adaptable, and able to juggle and prioritize tasks during the day.
