A welcoming, down to earth family in Somerville is seeking a part time nanny/household assistant to begin in August. There is some flexibility with the start date. Care will be for one child, an adorable 3.5 year old boy.
The base schedule for this position is M-Th 7am-10am and F 7am-3:30pm, but key required hours are 4 mornings of 7am-9/10am and Friday afternoon from 2-3:30pm. The family is open to anything from 15-25 guaranteed hours/week, depending on candidate preference and skill set. Core responsibilities include managing the child’s morning routine by getting him ready for the day, providing breakfast, packing lunches, and taking him to school. School is a 20 minute walk away, or there is a family car available to drive. Post drop-off responsibilities include picking up from the morning rush, household laundry, meal preparation in accordance with allergy restrictions, general tidying/organization, and family errands.
Ideal candidates for this role enjoy a mix of responsibilities and prioritizes reducing the mental load for busy, working parents. Prior experience with preschoolers, strong communication skills, and seeking a long-term commitment are required.
