Newton – Part Time Household Assistant (30 hours/week) – ASAP Start

A family located in the gorgeous village of Waban is searching for a part time household assistant to begin ASAP! They have 4 children, ages 16, 15, 10, and 8, plus one pet hamster that requires no care. All of the children attend full day school and require pick up in the afternoon/evening.

The schedule for this position is M-Th 1:30pm-7:30pm and F 12:30pm-6:30pm for a guarantee of 30 hours/week. Childcare responsibilities include school pick up, transportation to activities, spending time engaging in afternoon games and outdoor adventures, supervising homework, and managing the children’s schedules (including extracurricular activities). Household tasks include keeping household items (fridge, pantry staples, etc.) well stocked and organized, grocery shopping, researching and scheduling maintenance as needed, overseeing contractor work during those times, simple family meal preparation 3-4 times per week, keeping healthy snacks on hand for the children, packing their lunches, and keeping the household tidy and organized.

Those who are fun but able to be firm when working with the children to provide consistent communication, guidance, and support are great matches for this household. Fostering independence is important. A level of tech-savviness is required and will ideally be coupled with a proactive, warm, engaging nature. This family truly values organization, neatness, and willingness to jump in whenever needed, so those with high attention to detail would thrive alongside them! Candidates must be fully vaccinated, including the COVID vaccine.
