Additional Information:
A sweet, engaged family located in beautiful West Newton is searching for a long-term nanny to begin in February, March, or April. This role will begin with the family’s loving, adaptable 3 year old while they await the arrival of their newborn in late June.
The ideal schedule for this position begins with 40 guaranteed hours/week with a format of 3 days of 8:30am-5:30pm and 2 days of 12pm-6:30pm. Once the new baby arrives, hours will shift to M-F 8:30am-5:30pm for 45 hours/week. The family is open to having 1-3 days with a 5pm end time in exchange for 1-2 days with a 6:30pm end time on a long-term basis if the candidate prefers. This is a purely child-focused role, aimed at creating a safe, warm environment for both children, supporting healthy routines, and establishing open lines of communication with a partly at home parent. Meeting each child at their individual level is crucial. During preschool hours, candidates will assist with children’s laundry, children’s meal preparation, and child-related organization projects, including setting up the nursery!
Best matches for this family have prior experience helping families navigate the transition from a 1 to 2 child household and/or training as a newborn care specialist or doula. All candidates must have prior experience with infants and preschoolers, coupled with a high energy level. The ability to navigate two flights of stairs in the family hope and a safe driving record is required. The family is hopeful about meeting candidates who take ownership for their role and feel empowered to take the lead on day-to-day operations. The willingness for limited travel to the Berkshires and/or Cape Cod is a plus.
