A soon-to-be family of four in Brookline is excited to welcome a reliable full time nanny to their family beginning ideally on September 15th, though there is flexibility through October with the start date. When beginning, care will be for the family’s joyful and social 2 year old, then when the baby arrives in December, care will be collaborative with mom while she is home on maternity leave. By spring, the older child will attend a full day program and care will be mostly for the baby.
The schedule for this position guarantees 40 hours/week, scheduled M-F 9am-5pm. Availability to work up to 45 hours per week on occasion is desired. Keeping the children fulfilled and engaged day in and day out is key and goes hand in hand with planning education-based activities and outings for each child’s age and stage. Other duties include bottle preparation and sterilization, children’s meals and laundry, loading/unloading the dishwasher, household organization, and other child-related duties such as taking out the diaper pail and ensuring play spaces are tidy. When the older child begins attending school, it is likely that walking to pick him up at school in the afternoon will become a part of this position, as well.
Both parents work from closed offices at home a few days per week. Those who have a blast working with toddlers and newborns and are comfortable with giving and receiving feedback to support everyone’s growth are fantastic matches for this position! Spending focused time with the children and avoiding cell phone use during the day are valued by this family, as well as being naturally honest, genuine, and flexible. There could be optional travel opportunities on weekends if interested, though this is not a requirement. Candidates must be fully vaccinated, including the COVID vaccine and booster (when applicable).
