Nannies > What Nannies Do

As a nanny, your primary responsibility will be child care. Daily tasks typically include:

feeding playing carpooling
dressing arts & crafts kids' laundry
bathing playdates & outings cleaning up after children's activities
reading help with homework supervising children's chores

You will also be asked to help your family perform light housekeeping chores. These might include:
laundry
shopping and errands
simple meal preparation
loading/emptying dishwasher
tidying up at end of day

You should negotiate your responsibilities with your family/employer before you begin work.

A typical work schedule is Monday through Friday. The hours of work vary depending on the particular job. Typically a work week is 40-50 hours. We ask that you make a commitment for a minimum of one year, and that you take this job very seriously.


There is no job more demanding and important than caring for young children. At the same time, we know of no other job more rewarding and satisfying than the work involved in helping young children grow and develop.
