Our screening process is an
exacting one. Some of the criteria we employ are listed below:
All Boston Nanny Centre candidates are citizens or legal residents
of the United States, who have a strong background in childcare.
We only consider nannies who are at minimum high school graduates,
however many of our nannies are college educated. We place individuals
of all ages (over 21 years old). Live out nannies are generally
recruited from the greater Boston area, while nannies who wish to
live-in are recruited from New England and throughout the United
States.
A prospective nanny is asked to fill out an application and provide
us with at least 5 reference contacts. These references represent
a wide spectrum of the applicant's background, experience and qualifications.
Before the Boston Nanny Centre will recommend a prospective nanny,
we review the completed application, interview the candidate and
check references by telephone. This allows us to determine if the
individual is responsible, highly motivated, warm, and nurturing.
We ask the candidate to have her physician fill out a form letting
us know that the applicant is in good health to care for children.
The Boston Nanny Centre has contracted a national security organization
to conduct a criminal history search, driving history search, and
social security number trace. Once a position has been offered and
accepted please notify the Boston Nanny Centre. At that time we
will submit a request for the searches to be processed.
We ask the nanny to complete an Infant and Child CPR course prior
to her employment. Should the nanny not have CPR certification when
she begins her job, we appreciate the family's support in encouraging
the nanny to complete this requirement within the first month of
employment.
